Short trail
Race intensity is close to road, but the profile is not. The block keeps quality sessions sharp while introducing climbing volume and downhill control.
42 to 80 km
Medium trail
Time on feet becomes the limiter. Long runs stretch, climbing volume rises, and fueling and hiking economy get trained rather than improvised.
80 km and beyond
Ultra trail
Cumulative fatigue resistance takes over: back-to-back weekends, a second long run for advanced athletes, and eccentric descent work gated on your course.
